Scarlett Johansson has not asked Colin Jost to quit “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) in order to focus on their relationship, despite rumors. Gossip Cop debunked these reports after speaking to a source close to the situation.

Star reported the actress has a very busy and demanding schedule hence wants her boyfriend to make some “big compromises” including quitting “SNL” to travel with her for shoots. She had allegedly put these conditions if he wants to settle with her.

The magazine quoted an insider saying, “Long-distance isn’t good for their relationship. The harsh reality is that Colin needs to think about leaving the show if he wants to devote more time to Scarlett.”

The alleged insider added the show’s head writer and “Weekend Update” anchor was actually thinking of leaving the show because “as much as he loves ‘SNL,’ he loves her more.”

Gossip Cop contacted a source close to the situation who said the story was false and Johansson wasn’t pressuring Jost to give up his career for her.

The couple was spotted last week at the American Museum of Natural History Gala. The two were joined by Jost’s “SNL” cast Pete Davidson, Leslie Jones, Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant and they looked very comfortable and happy posing with each other on the red carpet.

Last year, Gossip Cop had debunked another report in the outlet that falsely claimed Jost was proposing to the “Avengers” star.

The magazine had also quoted an insider saying, “He’s looking at massive diamonds and the plan is for a romantic vacay proposal, where they’ll ring in the New Year with a sparkly engagement ring.”

It has been more than a year since such a rumor was spread, but the proposal has still not taken place. Though engagement rumors sparked earlier this year after she showed up at an “SNL” after party wearing a diamond ring, the news was not confirmed.

The couple made their first public appearance together at the Museum Gala at American Museum of Natural History, New York, in 2017. Jost opened up about their relationship during the Emmy Awards where he said, “I’m very happy. I feel very lucky. She’s pretty cool … it’s hard to have a lot of complaints, she’s pretty awesome," People reported.

Johansson on the other hand was previously married to Ryan Reynolds and Roman Dauriac and has opened up several times about the difficulties of marriage.

“I think the idea of marriage is very romantic; it’s a beautiful idea, and the practice of it can be a very beautiful thing. I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work. And the fact that it is such work for so many people — for everyone — the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing. It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond,” she said in the April 2017 issue of Playboy magazine.
