‘The Truth’ About ‘Teen Mom 2’ Stars Leah Messer And Corey Simms: She’s ‘Really Hurt’ By Him, Source Says
The meeting with MTV's “Teen Mom 2” reality stars Leah Messer and Corey Simms was so intense the young mother had to call her “safe word” multiple times during Part 2 of the reunion special Wednesday. Underneath the bitterness and anger, the West Virginia native was “really hurt” by her ex-husband, an insider told Us Weekly in an exclusive report Thursday.
Simms’s current wife, Miranda, joined them onstage later in the episode. Both alluded to Messer’s reputed drug problem and she felt ganged up on. "She is really hurt by this," the source told Us Weekly a day after the special aired. Messer is afraid Simms will try to take away their twins, 5, because of the drug accusations. "She’s not perfect and she knows that, but she’s doing so well, and she loves those kids more than anything.” The anonymous person added: “Leah’s considering putting Gracie and Ali into therapy."
Messer, 23, maintained that she left her children during Season 6 of the hit reality show to get therapy for stress and anxiety, but in the past Simms and his wife said Messer struggled with prescription pill addiction. Whatever the “true” reason for her therapy stay, Messer is doing better since the show filmed in July. "Leah is doing great, actually. She has actually grown as a person," the source said. "Leah is not on pills right now. She’s not on drugs. She’s doing so well."
It’s been rumored for weeks that Messer and Simms had a fling before he married Miranda, and the three practically confirmed the infidelity rumor with their hostility toward one another. When moderator Dr. Drew Pinsky pressed Messer about the onstage aggression, she indirectly said Simms cheated on Miranda with her. "Things happened that shouldn’t have happened and it was disrespectful to Miranda and I have apologized," Messer told the celebrity doctor Wednesday. "That’s the only time that I disrespected her."
