TV Premieres: ‘NCIS,’ ‘This Is Us’ Return, ‘Emergence,’ ‘Mixed-ish’ Premiere On Tuesday
The fall TV season is officially underway and quite a few fan favorite TV shows return on Tuesday, Sept. 24 along with a couple of series premieres.
“NCIS” returns for its massive 17th season with special guest star Cote de Pablo reprising her role as Ziva for the first time since 2013. Over on NBC, the “This Is Us” Season 4 premiere is set to introduce a slew of new characters. “Empire” kicks off its final season on Tuesday night as well.
Tuesday night also brings some series premieres. The “black-ish” spinoff, “mixed-ish,” tells the story of Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross as an adult, Arica Himmel as a child) as a little girl who moves from a commune to the suburbs in the 1980s. The sitcom also stars Tika Sumpter and Mark-Paul Gosselaar
On the opposite end of the spectrum, but still on ABC, is “Emergence.” The new drama follows police chief Jo Evans (Allison Tollman) as she finds a mysterious young girl, Piper (Alexa Swinton), on the night of a plane crash. Jo quickly becomes protective of the girl even as the questions about her seem to pile up.
