TVXQ's Changmin To Marry His Non-Celebrity Fiancée Next Month

K-pop group TVXQ's Changmin has set a new date for his wedding, which was postponed due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in Seoul, South Korea.

Management agency SM Entertainment announced on Monday that Changmin will marry his non-celebrity fiancée in a private ceremony on Oct. 25. They were originally set to tie the knot on Sept. 5.

The location and time of the wedding have not been announced to protect the privacy of the bride as well as their families.

The 32-year-old singer went public with his relationship in December last year and announced his engagement in a handwritten letter to his fans in June.

“Hello. This is TVXQ’s Changmin. There is something I want to tell fans myself, so I am taking the courage to write this letter. It is not something I can say easily, so I am very nervous right now as I write each word,” he said in the note, Soompi reported.

“As you are aware due to a news report from a while ago, there is a woman I am currently dating,” he continued. “We have had a good relationship with trust and faith in one another, and naturally I decided that I want to continue my life together with this person, so we made the decision to have our wedding in September around the time when the heat will cool down.”

Meanwhile, Changmin is not the only celebrity who had to postpone his wedding plans due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Actor Ryu Deok Hwan, who was originally set to marry his girlfriend of seven years in October, decided to push back his wedding to next year.

“We were preparing to hold a ceremony in October, but we have decided to delay it to next year due to COVID-19,” he said in a note to fans, Soompi reported.

He continued, “To all those who worry and take an interest in me like family, I’m sure you must be very surprised, but I wanted to be the one to share this news with you myself rather than you hearing it through news articles or rumors.”

Actress Kang Sora did away with a grand wedding ceremony that was scheduled for Aug. 29 and opted for an intimate affair with just close family members.

“The wedding was originally scheduled for 29th August, but the ceremony has been canceled due to the Covid-19 situation worsening again,” her agency Plum Entertainment said in a statement. “The ceremony will be replaced by a small gathering between the couple and their direct families.”
