'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1' Review: A Step Toward Adulthood [PHOTOS]
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 was released in theaters worldwide Friday, and this latest installment in the Twilight series is not to be missed.
Reflections on the movie can be individual. But surely, to diehard fans of the Twilight saga, every moment with Bella, Edward, and Jacob are very precious.
Especially to teenage girls, who have grown up with Bella and will now step into adulthood with Bella, who has begun a new fearful but determined journey with Edward, not as a girl but as a woman.
In The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1, the main characters have moved to a new stage -- adulthood -- which includes marital life for Edward and Bella. And the reaction of the charming werewolf, Jacob, whose love was unrequited by Bella, is also an important part of this film.
Among the most anticipated scenes must be how Edward and Bella get married and how they consummate their marriage while honeymooning in some romantic location. In this regard, director Bill Condon didn't disappoint. The location turned out to be a secret tropical resort in Brazil.
However, Bella's happily married life takes a twist. She finds out about her pregnancy, and Edward, who fears about the consequence of the vampire-human union, persuades Bella to abort her pregnancy. But Bella, who from the beginning was courageous and chose the difficult path for herself, willingly decides to keep the baby.
The story of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 revolves around how Bella keeps her pregnancy and adjusts to the new vampire family despite all the threats and dangers that are triggered by the unexpected pregnancy -- the pregnancy not only threatens to break the treaty between the werewolves and vampires but also threatens to break the very foundation of the marriage between Bella and Edward.
The ending of the film will leave some Twilight fans feeling empty as they will be left wondering about how all the vampire and werewolf clans worldwide will react to the union of Edward and Bella. Hopefully, that will be shown in bigger scale in the next installment in the series.
Meanwhile, Condon has poured out his talent behind the camera, and has tried to portray human feelings of love, rejection, anger, and jealousy to the hilt.
Critics can say many things, but, at the end of it, the reason why the Twilight series has become a worldwide hit is because of Edward and Bella's heart-pounding story. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 is not for the masses, and those who are not interested in a teenage vampire love story might criticize the film from a technical viewpoint. Although the visual effects of the wolves still look awkward, the movie has enough love scenes, which will be a feast to Twilight lovers.
