Twitter Mocks Chris Christie Intimidating Cubs Fan At Brewers Baseball Game
Days after he was booed for catching a foul ball during New York Mets game against the St. Louis Cardinals, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie confronted a Chicago Cubs fan Sunday, with a generous portion of nachos in his hands, during a baseball game in Milwaukee where the Chicago Cubs went up against the Brewers. Following the confrontation, Twitteratti went into frenzy.
The episode was recorded in a 22-second-long video that has gone viral on social media. In the clip, Christie is seen leaning very close to the fan and whispering, “You’re a big shot!” The fan, Brad Joseph, replied, “I appreciate that.”
Joseph told ABC affiliate WISN12 that before the confrontation was caught on camera, he yelled at Christie, calling him a “hypocrite.” “He turned around back towards me and got in my face for what seemed like a long time, but was probably only about 30 seconds or a minute. He (Christie) was yelling at me. First he told me, 'Why don't you have another beer?' which I thought was a decent come back, and I thought that was kind of funny. Then he started calling me a tough guy," he said.

Joseph also added he did not believe he stepped out of the line when he made his feelings known to the governor. "He is a public official and this is America and I think we have the right to say what you believe as long as it’s not crude or profane," he said.
The confrontation between the two lasted for over a minute although the footage only shows the last few seconds of the argument. Shortly after Christie is seen descending down the stairs, Victor Caratini of the Cubs hit a tie-breaking homer helping his team finish 4-2, USA Today reported.
This is not the first time that Christie, a big fan of pro sports event, has received backslash from baseball fans. A couple of weeks ago Christie was heavily booed after catching a foul ball at a game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets.
Needless to say, Twitter users did not miss an opportunity to turn the incident into memes. They mocked the enormous serving of cheesy nachos that Christie was carrying when he got up close and personal with the Cubs fan.

Some Twitter users also did not refrain from taking a dig at the high-waist “maternity pants” that Christie seemed to be sporting at the time.
A social media user also gave suggestion on how the Cubs fan could have reacted when Christie got into his face, instead of just saying that he appreciated it.
Christie’s son, Andrew Christie, who is employed by the Brewers, was also reduced to a laughing stock after the footage of his father went viral.
Another user posted a footage in which Christie seemed to briefly hug a Cubs fan. He gave her a thumbs up while munching fast food.
