  • Prince Harry said the necklace Prince William ripped during their fight had a sentimental value
  • He told Stephen Colbert that it included their kids Archie and Lilibet's heartbeats
  • Several netizens reacted because the fight happened in 2019, and Lilibet wasn't born yet

Many doubted Prince Harry's statement about the charm necklace he mentioned in his book "Spare" while discussing an altercation with his big brother, Prince William.

When the Duke of Sussex appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert," they talked about his book "Spare," which was released Tuesday. One of the things that Stephen Colbert brought up was the alleged physical fight between the two royal princes, where the Prince of Wales reportedly attacked his younger brother.

"There is a lot of talk about the physical fight that the two of you had, where he pushed you down in the kitchen and broke the dog bowl when you fell on it," Colbert, 58, said People reported.

"He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog's bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out," Prince Harry wrote in his book.

The host asked Prince Harry what necklace he was referring to that broke during the altercation. Meghan Markle's husband pulled it out under his shirt and said it "is now fixed" and explained the significance of the three silver charms.

"I've got my kids' heartbeats, which my wife gave me," he said, referring to the sentimental pendants etched with cardiograms of their son Archie, 3, and daughter Lilibet, 1. "And I friend of mine in Botswana made this for me, which has got [a] tiger's eye on it."

However, Prince Harry's statement saying the charm included his kids' heartbeats made some question it. According to them, their children weren't born at the time. Prince Harry said the fight happened in 2019. The royal couple's son was born on May 6, 2019, [and] their daughter arrived [on] June 4, 2021, when they were already in Los Angeles, California. It's unclear if Archie was already born at the time.

"Except his son wasn't even born when the alleged fight happened," one commented with a face with rolling eyes emoji. Another added, "And then obviously the daughter wasn't born either."

"Lili was clearly not born in 2019, and I wonder if Archie was born at that time? So I don't know how he was gifted [a] heartbeat necklace of his future children in advance," a third person added.

Meanwhile, another said he didn't believe that Prince William attacked Prince Harry because, in the book, Markle's husband admitted to picking fights. "Harry went for #PrinceWilliam, when he addressed the bullying of staff by his wife. William defending himself dealt with Harry," the netizen claimed.

Prince Harry has been called out for alleged factual errors in his book, including his recollection of his whereabouts when the Queen Mother died, his fondness for TK Maxx's annual sale, being a direct descendant of Henry VI, and his claim that they booked a first-class plane ticket for Thomas Markle Sr. to fly from Mexico to U.K. on Air New Zealand, warning him of "a whole new level of harassment."

"We've never had flights between Mexico and the U.K. And we only have Business Premier," the spokesperson of Air New Zealand told the New Zealand Herald.
