  • Caitlyn Jenner is thinking of running for governor in California, according to a report
  • Some Twitter users expressed disapproval over the potential run, saying she’s not fit for the job
  • Others encouraged Jenner to push through with her plans as they are willing to support her

Caitlyn Jenner could be making the next big move in her life as reports say she is planning to take on Gavin Newsom in her bid to be California’s next governor.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner’s father caused a lot of buzz on social media Tuesday after Axios broke the news, citing unnamed sources with knowledge of her discussions, that the Olympian-turned-reality TV star, 71, is exploring the possibility of running for California governor.

Jenner has reportedly been speaking with political consultants as she is keen on giving a run for the position a try. The report said one of her consultants is longtime GOP fundraiser Caroline Wren, whom she met via the Republican nonprofit American Unity Fund.

One of the writers of the Axios report, Jonathan Swan, shared the news on Twitter, and it quickly received mixed reactions from other users.

“I think we’ve had enough of the Jenners an Kardashians. No more reality people in public office,” one wrote.

“Don’t get me wrong [Caitlyn] Jenner is awesome...but can we please stop giving TV personalities control of our government...how about we hire someone who studied law instead? We are turning into idiocracy,” another commented.

“I’m so tired of egotistical celebrities believing that governing is easy and that they can do it,” Kelley S. Brown, a political science professor at San Jacinto College, tweeted.

Others reacted to the news positively and expressed their support in case Jenner really ends up running for governor.

“Well I think it’s about time Caitlyn Jenner runs for CA-Gov. HATERS GONNA HATE!!! #CaitlynJenner #forgovernor,” one wrote.

“#CaitlynJenner for GOVERNOR!! Yes!!” another added.

“#CailynJenner Is the perfect Republican pick for California.. I said this months ago, and she won’t be touchable,” a different user tweeted.

The news comes months after Jenner’s manager Sophia Hutchins denied the rumors that she’s thinking of running for the position ahead of the recall election this fall.

“[Caitlyn] has never considered running for governor and is very happy doing the work that she is doing to promote LGBT rights and spending time with her 18 grandchildren and 10 children,” Hutchins was quoted by The Hill as saying in February.

It should be noted that Jenner once considered running for Senate in California back in 2017, as per The Hill.

Meanwhile, Jenner revealed last month that she’s returning for the final season of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” after stepping away from the reality series following her divorce from Kris Jenner and in the wake of her transition.

“Put it this way, I am in the final season. Over the 10 years I did the show, I really enjoyed doing the show,” she said before noting that the show brought their entire family “very close together.”
