Twitter Reacts To Draymond Green's Mom Fight With A Cavaliers Fan At NBA Finals
No doubt these NBA finals have been full of drama.
But this time it is not between the players. Draymond Green’s mother, Mary Baber, can be seen on video getting into a heated exchange with a Cleveland Cavaliers fan Wednesday night in the arena.
It all happened after the Golden State Warriors took down the Cleveland Cavaliers in an 118-113 stunner. No one knows exactly how the argument started, but things got a bit out of control when Baber and the fan started shoving each other. In the footage, you can see Cleveland Police officers who were working at the game get in the middle and diffuse the situation.

A scrappy-ness runs deep between mother and son as they both have incidents of confrontations in the area. Green is probably the most emotional player in the finals. Over his career, he has been famous for picking up technical fouls and flagrant fouls for his attitude on the basketball court, but lately, he’s been relatively quiet.
The video never shows Baber throw any hands, but you can see fans attempting to hold her back. No arrests were made during the altercation.
Green did not score and was held to 0 of 5 shooting in the first half.
Green served a suspension during game 5 of the 2016 NBA Finals after picking up several technical and flagrant fouls in the 2015-16 season and playoffs. Many people felt that his suspension altered the series when the Cavs defeated Golden State without Green in game 5, although they still crushed them with Green playing in games 6 and 7.

Green picked up two early fouls during Game 1 of the NBA Finals and frustration quickly set in. But he wasn’t the only one who was upset.
This isn’t the first-time Baber has gotten into a testy situation regarding basketball.
In fact, during the first half, Baber took to Twitter to voice her gripes regarding the officiating of Game 1. She chastised the refs in a series of tweets which have since been taken down.
She also suggested that the NBA should watch LeBron James’ tendency to flail his elbows and mentioned the NBA in the tweet.
Twitter reacted to Baber and her in-game scuffle. Fans are pretty much defending her and her right to voice her opinions. Twitter users are supporting Baber and pretty much chastising the behavior of Cavaliers fans.
Green’s mother is always an interesting character on social media, and when it comes to defending her son, she is protective of him. Based on Green’s vital technical foul that may have changed the outcome of last year’s finals, he can do without the outside distractions. The NBA could fine Green for his mom’s tweets.
Green and his mother are very close, and he credits Baber for his trash-talking tendencies.
"That's what you do, you talk," Green told ESPN last month. "You talk junk during basketball. That's how I was raised. I was raised in a family like that, so I didn't need a Charles Barkley to influence me. I was raised by Mary Babers. In the Babers family, that's what you do.
Green’s mom is the real MVP of this series.
