Twitter Reacts To Greta Thunberg's Post About Donald Trump's White House Exit: 'Brilliantly Played'
KEY POINTS
- Greta Thunberg trolled Donald Trump in a tweet while he was leaving the White House
- Twitter users have mixed opinions on Thunberg's tweet about the former president
- Thunberg used the same caption Trump used in a tweet about her from two years ago
Greta Thunberg clapped back at Donald Trump on the day he left the White House.
The 18-year-old environmental activist shared a snap of Trump as he was about to get inside the helicopter but stopped before the entrance to give the crowd his last wave. In the caption, Thunberg called Trump a "very happy old man."
"He seems like a very happy old man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!" she wrote.
The post received mixed responses with some wondering why she wrote such a caption. Many of them didn't see the sarcasm while others slammed her for commenting on issues related to Trump when she isn't even American.
"Hes a very rich happy old man with a beautiful family he will go back to his life with another achievement under his belt, cant beat being an achiever Greta," one wrote.
"What has Trump ever said or done to indicate that he was happy? For four years he was constantly whining, self pitying and lashing out at any nearby targets. Also, he is deeply in debt and has consistently lied about the value of his assets. He never released his taxes," a second user stated.
"You will go Home, and make your homework!!!! This things is too hard to your brain!! You don't understand," another added.
Apparently, Thunberg’s tweet had something to do with a post Trump did about her after she addressed the world leaders at the 2019 UN climate action summit in New York. One netizen shared both tweets from Trump and Thunberg that almost have the same caption.
"She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!" Trump tweeted while sharing a news report about Thunberg.
"Brilliantly played," one commented with clapping hands emoji.
"So, it was this.....I hadn't seen Drumpf's earlier tweet abt her. I get it now. Well played Greta," another wrote.
"Savage!" a third user added.
Thunberg and Trump have exchanged words on Twitter on multiple occasions. The former president even criticized her when she won Time magazine's "Person of the Year" in 2019.
"So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill, Greta, Chill," Trump tweeted as quoted by USA Today.
