Twitter Reacts As Melania Again Refuses To Let Donald Trump Hold Her Hand in Rome

A clip of Tuesday's interaction went viral after a number of Twitter users pointed out the second occurrence in less than 48 hours of the first lady avoiding the affections of her husband. As the two departed Air Force One in Rome, President Trump offered Melania a hand, to which her body language seemed to reply, “No thanks.”
Huffington Post front page editor Philip Lewis took notice and captioned the image, “She was so smooth with it this time tho.”

Trump was reaching for his wife's hand at the top of the airplane stairs. It's been reported that he fears stairs (and he was seen holding U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May's hand when she visited the White House in January). But if he was looking for a helping hand in Rome, he was disappointed.
The first of what appears to be a pointed avoidance by Melania of her husband occurred after the couple touched down in Tel Aviv Monday for President Trump’s two-day visit to Israel. As the couple walked down the tarmac to greet Israeli officials, President Trump reached back to grab first lady Melania’s hand — at which point it was sharply swatted away.
