Steve Burton is rumored to likely suffer the same fate as Ingo Rademacher, with many claiming that he is already out of "General Hospital."
Rademacher's exit from the hit ABC daytime TV soap opera was reported Tuesday. The network's representative confirmed his departure from the show to The Hollywood Reporter. Rademacher, who played Jasper "Jax" Jacks, was let go because he refused to comply with the production's COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
Following Rademacher's exit, many are worried that Burton would also be let go. The rumors about Burton's exit started to make buzz on social media after Looper questioned if he would be the next to leave the show. There are speculations that just like Rademacher, Burton didn't want to comply with the vaccine mandate. The outlet also cited Celeb Dirty Laundry's report claiming that "there are signs pointing in Burton's direction" that he might leave the ABC soap. Several Twitter users are also convinced that he is the next star to leave "General Hospital."
"Steve Burton is out too!" one wrote on Twitter.
"Steve & Ingo are both out it's been confirmed. Steve isn't taking the vaccine either. I don't blame them either," another added.
"It is my personal belief that Steve Burton is out as Jason on General Hospital. I'm reading way too many articles and comments by people who actually know the truth for it not to be reliable at this point. Unless SB suddenly decides to get the vaccine and they let him stay... #GH," a third user commented.
Meanwhile, many are hoping that Burton will stay because they love his character. Burton has been playing the role of Jason Morgan in the series since 1991. Those watching the show and following Burton's character want to continue seeing him on "General Hospital."
"I hope the rumors are not true and Steve Burton stays put, but other than that, please please say Peter will die soon. So sick of this Peter garbage," one fan wrote.
"Don’t let Steve Burton leave the show a lot of people would be mad about that. Just saying," a second user added.
"I'm okay with Ingo gone, but Steve Burton?! I need answers #GeneralHospital," another wrote.
ABC hasn't confirmed the rumors about Burton's departure from the show as of late.
