Two Miami police killed, suspect dies

Two Miami-Dade police officers were shot Thursday and both have died during gunfight with a suspect who also died.
The incident in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami came as the officers attempted to serve a homicide warrant, a Miami Police Department spokeswoman said in a published report.
One officer died on the scene. Another died undergoing surgery in the hospital where she died of her wounds, the spokesperson said.
The dead male officer was identified as Roger Castillo, according to the Miami Herald. The female officer was identified as Amanda Haworth.
One suspect, Johnny Sims 23, was killed in the gun fight, according to Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez. No other suspects are being sought.
The shootings took place when police and U.S. Marshals tried to serve the warrant, according to reports.
