Tomorrow x Together's new album "The Name Chapter: Temptation" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, ending SZA's "SOS'" seven-week run at the top of the chart.
The South Korean boy group's fifth EP, which dropped on Jan. 27, earned 161,500 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending Feb. 2, Billboard reported, citing data from Luminate. Most of the equivalent album units were garnered from CD album sales.
SZA's "SOS" fell to second place after earning 100,000 equivalent album units in the same period. This figure is down 10% from the previous week, the outlet noted.
Other albums in the top 10 include Sam Smith's "Gloria" at No. 7 and Lil Yachty's "Let's Start Here" at No. 9.
"Temptation" is TXT's first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 albums chart, but this is the third time the five-member group, composed of members Yeonjun, Taehyun, Soobin, Beomgyu and Huening Kai, has made it to the top 10.
TXT's "The Chaos Chapter: Freeze" peaked at No. 5 on the chart in 2021, while their "Minisode 2: Thursday's Child" reached No. 4 in 2022.
Of "Temptation's" 161,500 equivalent album units earned, album sales comprise 152,000, streaming equivalent album (SEA) units comprise 9,000 (equaling 13.24 on-demand official streams of the set's five songs) and track equivalents album (TEA) units comprise 500.
Each equivalent album unit equals one album sale or 10 individual tracks sold from an album or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.
"The Name Chapter: Temptation" also achieved another milestone when it scored the largest sales week for any album since Taylor Swift's "Midnights" album debuted at No. 1 with 1.14 million copies sold on the Nov. 5, 2022-dated chart, Billboard reported.
TXT is the second South Korean vocal group to top the Billboard 200 in the last year without also debuting a hit on the Hot 100 following nine-member group Stray Kids, which ranked No. 1 twice in 2022 with the albums "Oddinary" and "Maxident."
"The Name Chapter: Temptation," which includes the tracks "Happy Fools, "Sugar Rush Ride," "Tinnitus (Wanna be a rock)," "Farewell, Neverland" and "Devils by the Window," portrays the "youth on the brink of adulthood," according to Big Hit Music's website.
It was released on Jan. 27 and has been invading international music charts in Japan, France and the United Kingdom.
