Tyga Opens Up About Kylie Jenner Breakup, Says His Music Career Suffered Because Of Relationship
Tyga thinks his music career took a bit of a blow because of his very public romance with reality star Kylie Jenner. The rapper opened up about his and Jenner’s split in a new radio interview revealing that the constant attention was a distraction for him.
Speaking to radio host Big Boy, the “Stimulated” rapper admitted that he thinks his relationship with Jenner took a lot from him when it came to his music career. “When you’re in a very public relationship like that, it’s hard for other people to see you differently than that,” he explained (via “Entertainment Tonight”). “And being in that, it just took a lot from me, you know, career-wise. It overshadowed a lot of my talent, and a lot of things that I worked hard for.”
Tyga also said there’s no hard feelings between him and the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star and that their breakup was a mutual decision. “I think it just got to the point where it was like, you know, ‘I respect you, you respect me,’ and you know … maybe later on in life, maybe we might come back, you know what I’m saying? But right now I want to focus on what I want to do.”
The 26-year-old rapper also dished on rumors he was rebounding with model, Demi Rose. He was first spotted with Rose last month in Cannes, France, and has been seen with her on several other occasions but he told Big Boy there’s nothing going on between them. “I’m single. I’m enjoying life,” he said. Tyga previously denied the dating rumor, tweeting in May that he was “single.” Jenner, on the other hand, is continuing to spark rumors she’s dating rapper PartyNextDoor.
Tyga’s interview with Big Boy isn’t the first time he’s opened up about his ex-girlfriend. Shortly after their split in May Tyga told a TMZ photographer that he still has feelings for the 18-year-old lip kit creator. “We’re just both focused on our lives, our individual lives, and sometimes things just don’t work out,” he said. “But I love her.”
