Tyler Perry Highest Paid Man in Entertainment, Beats out Bruckheimer, Spielberg, Cowell
Tyler Perry, actor, film director and producer, has now becomes the highest paid man in the entertainment industry according to Forbes Magazine.
Perry, who produces TV shows such as House of Payne, and has directed the Madea movie series, raked in $130 million dollars between May 2010 and May 2011.
The list of individuals on the list is diverse, with two actors, two directors, two television stars, an author, a singer, a radio show host and an athlete.
Although he has not been at the top of his game following a sex scandal in 2009, Tiger Woods nonetheless racks up a solid pay package, making $75 million last year and still earning the title of highest paid athlete. He came in at number 10 on the list this year.
If the list had included women, Oprah Winfrey would have easily claimed the top spot, as she raked in a whopping $290 million during the previous year. In fact, Perry once told People magazine that he began his career in writing after listening to an Oprah talk show.
According to ColorLines, Perry may also have a 24-hour cable network coming out in the not-so-distant future.
