By simply adding 22.5 grams of “blueberry bioactive” to smoothies, it could yield positive effects on insulin sensitivity.

Since these berries are high in fiber, they are also considered as heart-healthy foods. They help in lowering bad cholesterol. They also are great additions to a diet that aims to lower blood pressure.
Aside from fiber, these berries also contain folate, potassium, vitamin B6, and vitamin C. These essential minerals and vitamins contribute greatly to the benefit of one’s overall health.
Other Type 2 Diabetes-Friendly Foods
In addition to blueberries and blackberries, there are other foods available that will be great for type 2 diabetics. Express stated that you could include carbs with a low glycemic index. You can have basmati or easy cook noodles and rice.
For potatoes, always choose new ones instead of old ones. If you want to eat bread, go for rye bread instead of white and wholemeal bread.
