Tyrese Gibson Apologizes To Wife, Fans For Public Meltdown, Blames Medication
Tyrese Gibson recently apologized to his wife, Samantha Lee Gibons, and her fans for his public meltdown.
The “Fast and Furious” actor claimed that his behavior was a result of his medication. Gibson uploaded his apology video via his Instagram account and said that he’s been extremely stressed lately especially in relation to almost losing her daughter, Shayla.
Gibson also said that he consulted with psychiatrists and specialists and one of them gave him a medication that messed him up. “If you know me the way I know you do, you know that something had to be wrong, and I was not in my normal mindstate,” he said.
In his caption, the actor also clarified that he doesn’t have mental illness contrary to what some publications initially reported.
Last week, Gibson spoke with Entertainment Tonight following a custody hearing over his 10-year-old daughter with ex-wife, Norma Gibson. “They call me crazy, they said I’m having mental meltdowns on the Internet – I am. Because you’re judging me because you still get to go home to your daughter. I don’t have my baby. Listen to me, if she’s not gonna wrap this up, this nightmare’s not gonna end, my baby’s not home,” he said.
But last weekend, Gibson revealed that there’s some progress in the cases his ex-wife filed against him. According to The Blast, Norma dropped the physical abuse claim she filed against the actor. Initially, Norma accused Gibson of beating their daughter.
After her filing, the court granted Norman with temporary physical and legal custody of Shayla while investigations were still ongoing. Gibson was also requested by the court to stay at least 100 yards away from his daughter and ex-wife.
On his Instagram account, Gibson shared a photo of his current wife sleeping soundly on their bed. He said in his caption that the two of them could finally breathe a sigh of relief after the physical abuse charges were dropped. However, it is still unclear whether or not Gibson could finally be reunited with his daughter.
