The intriguing potential boxing match against Tyson Fury could be more than just a fight for UFC heavyweight star Francis Ngannou.

Shortly after taking the WWE by storm at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia, Fury has now set his sights on UFC KO artist Ngannou. As early as now, the said potential fight is already generating interest from MMA and boxing legends.

In one of his recent videos on YouTube, MMA legend and ESPN’s Chael Sonnen pointed out what makes Fury vs. Ngannou even more interesting. According to Sonnen, aside from the fact that both fighters have different set of skills, Ngannou might have bigger things going inside his head should the fight comes to fruition.

“Tyson moves real well, but Francis hits real hard,” Sonnen pointed out.

“When you’re doing it in the heavyweight division, particularly with guys of their size, there is more to the X’s and O’s of this. Particularly when you get the backstory that Tyson Fury’s always been a big MMA fan,” Sonnen added.

Sonnen then emphasized that Ngannou might have his breakthrough in pro boxing with the Fury fight – a “dream” the Cameroonian fighter has longed for since he started doing MMA.

“But Francis Ngannou never planned to do MMA. His big goal was to go out and be a professional boxer When you start to get armed with some of these pieces, you do start to see where that starts to be a little more interesting,” Sonnen emphasized.

Several months ago, Ngannou already revealed that he’s planning to make a switch to boxing soon. And with the eagerness he’s been showing lately, it appears that the heavy-hitting fighter is serious about pursuing a pro boxing career.

“First of all, boxing is my background. Boxing was my first love for a very long time. For more than 10 years I have been loving boxing without even knowing what MMA was. Then, I get in MMA by opportunity, but still boxing lover. So, I think, at some point, I can end up to cross paths with that dream,” Ngannou revealed.

Legendary boxer Mike Tyson also got hooked with Ngannou and apparently has agreed to train Ngannou for the said fight.

"Mike Tyson has agreed to coach me. You called me out, don't be scared anymore. It's too late, let's do it," Ngannou revealed.

Fury has agreed to Ngannou once he's "done with his boxing fights.” The 31-year-old British boxing star took his thoughts on Twitter shortly after Ngannou boasted about learning some boxing skills from Tyson.

“I’ll deal with you and all the other MMA heavyweights when I’m done with my boxing fights. It won’t be long to wait! Then I’ll show u how we roll,” Fury wrote.
