Uber Driver Accused Of Raping 13-Year-Old Girl After Victim's Father Booked His Car
A 32-year-old Uber driver has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl whose father hired the man to transport the teen to her mother's Washington home.
The incident occurred on Oct. 15 after the minor's father booked an Uber, which was driven by Mahdi Ibrahimi, to take the girl to her mom's residence in Burien at around 11 p.m. "Within minutes" of having the girl in the car, the suspect allegedly told the minor to move to the front seat of his Toyota RAV4.
After booking the car, the girl's father took a screenshot of the trip details and sent it to his ex-wife so she would know when to expect their daughter's arrival. But when the teen did not arrive home at the time indicated on the screengrab, the mother got worried.
The mother then noticed a vehicle parked on the side of the street. The car, which matched the description on the trip details, was several homes away from where the teen was supposed to be dropped off.
When the mother motioned for the driver to come toward her house, she noticed her daughter sitting on the front seat.
"This immediately concerned (the mother) as she knew that it was not normal for an Uber driver to have their passenger ride in the front seat," the King County Sheriff's Office said as per KOMO News.
The mother called 911 after the teen told her Ibrahimi "touched her" sexually shortly after leaving her father's house.
The girl was then taken to Seattle Children's Hospital, where she underwent a sexual assault examination, reported The Seattle Times.
According to the police, the girl told the investigators the driver penetrated her with his finger while they were on the freeway. He then asked the minor to "go with him," which she declined.
The girl's father also told the police the girl's destination changed on the Uber app. The new destination was located 200 feet north of his ex-wife's house. The father said he did not make the change on the app.
During questioning on Oct. 22, Ibrahimi told the investigator the girl was crying and he told her not to cry. He added that the girl "said something about her parents separating and that she had a fight with her boyfriend."
Ibrahimi also denied touching the girl willingly. He told investigators the girl "forced him to put his hand inside of her pants," according to court documents.
"He assaulted and exploited this child when she was clearly vulnerable, crying, and in the defendant's sole control," the prosecuting attorney wrote in the court documents obtained by KOMO News.
Ibrahimi has been charged with second-degree child rape and is being held in the King County Jail. A judge set Ibrahimi's bail at $25,000. Prosecutors have tried to seek a bail amount of $125,000.
