Uber Drivers Can Now Get Tipped In App; Find Out Where

Uber has now added a tipping feature into the popular ride-sharing application, which will allow users to include extra money for exemplary service. While rival companies, such as Lyft have long included a tipping function within their app, Uber customers have been relegated to tipping in cash or tipping through a third party payment app.

Now, Uber users can discretely tip their drivers after a ride is completed. Much like Uber’s driver rating system, a window will pop up allowing riders the option to add a tip at their digression. Riders can add a tip from one of the preset options or can add a custom amount, and have up to 30 days after the ride is completed to add a tip. Drivers will be able to identify tips through the ride, but not the rider, which keeps the system anonymous.

Riders in available cities should now see the tipping option. However, drivers will have to update the Uber app on their end to enable the features. Once updated and relaunched, the app will allow drivers to select the “Accept Tips” option to enable the feature.
