KEY POINTS

  • Amanda Nunes is interested in facing Jake Paul
  • Claressa Shields is insistent in fighting Jake Paul
  • Paul has yet to respond in a potential intergender bout

Internet sensation Jake Paul has his sights on Conor McGregor and a couple of mixed martial artists.

However, the 23-year-old may end up facing a woman instead. Amanda Nunes is now was mentioned as a potential opponent for Paul by UFC top brass Dana White.

While some felt it was something made to clap back at the YouTuber, there seems to be some seriousness behind it.

After White made a “blunt” response to Paul’s recent rant of offering McGregor a $50 million contract for a ring showdown, the two-division UFC women's champion joined the conversation on social media saying “I’m in.”

“The Lioness” has been on a tear lately winning her last 11 fights. The last time she fought in the cage was last June where she won via unanimous decision over Felicia Spencer.

She was originally set to defend her title against Megan Anderson at UFC 256 this month but pulled out due to an undisclosed injury.

Nunes becomes the second female fighter who is open to facing Paul in the boxing ring. The other was Claressa Shields who vowed to give the YouTuber a neat boxing lesson if he dares, TMZ reported.

"I, Claressa Shields, will whoop Jake Paul's ass," Shields said. "He can come in the ring weighing 180lb and I will come weighing 168 and I will beat the s**t out of him."

During a live interview with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson on Heavy, the 25-year-old boxer feels that Paul cannot beat her.

“But I want to tell Jake Paul I’m not the one to f**k with! That’s all I wanna tell him. Like, my man, I’ll get there with you gladly. We can give all the money to the Flint Water Crisis and give out water and everything. But, man, man, man, I will put a hurting on that boy,” she stated.

Paul has not responded to Shields and is likely to do the same with Nunes.
