Dana White is confident that UFC 244: Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal will hurt the viewing audience of Canelo Alvarez vs. Sergey Kovalev on Nov. 2.

UFC 244 will be carried by ESPN+ on the same day their rival sports streaming service DAZN will broadcast Canelo vs. Kovalev. Upon learning that the two huge combat sports events will happen on the same day, White stated that the headliner for UFC 244 – Diaz vs. Masvidal could ruin the PPV ratings and ticket sales of Canelo vs. Kovalev.

In a recent interview with Boxing Scene, White went straight-forward about the fact that a special UFC event and a special boxing event will happen on the same day. According to White, DAZN is “crazy” to schedule Canelo vs. Kovalev on the very same date as Diaz vs. Masvidal.

“I think they’re crazy to go the same night as us on DAZN, but it is what it is. But if they time it right, and they do this thing the right way, it could be very much like the other night when Gaethje fought Cowboy, and then the Fury fight was on after. So if they time it right, it could work out. But if they want to go head-to-head, they’re f-----g nuts,” White exclaimed.

Last week, the UFC held an event on the same night as Tyson Fury vs. Otto Wallin. However, both cards were handled by ESPN+, which carefully coordinated the cards in a manner where the main events did not go head to head.

The UFC 244 is a one-of-a-kind event made possible by UFC. The main event is a fight for the first and only “BMF” belt which stands for “Baddest M-----F----r,” a title which will not be defended by the winner.

Shortly after the fight was confirmed, Jorge Masvidal sent a message to WWE superstar The Rock, asking him if he would present the BMF title to him should he win the fight.

To everybody’s surprise, The Rock responded and agreed to Masvidal’s proposal. According to The Rock, he will put the belt around Masvidal’s waist and he is already getting shape to take part in UFC’s special event.

"Doing all I can to make this fight. If I can and you win, I’ll put the belt around your waist at MSG - consider it done. Already shaping up to be one of the biggest and most electrifying fights in UFC history. Can’t wait," Johnson wrote.

In his recent interview with TMZ sports, White confirmed The Rock’s attendance on the said event and will present the BMF belt to the winner.

“He’s gonna. He’s taking my job. Listen, if The Rock wants to do it, The Rock gets what The Rock wants,” White said.
