UFC's newly crowned champ-champ Henry Cejudo seems to get serious about a fight with boxing champ Vasyl Lomachenko.

UFC’s Henry Cejudo has been enjoying the fruits of his labor ever since the Mexican fighter successfully became the promotion’s newest two-division champ. At some point, Cejudo seems to prove more as he recently called out Olympic gold medallist and world champion Vasyl Lomachenko on social media.

But the real question is, how serious is Cejudo about fighting the boxing champ?

The sudden exchanges all started with what seems to be just a tease when Cejudo mentioned Lomachenko on twitter following the recent victory of former UFC fighter Artem Lobov over former boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi, MMA Fighting reported.

Lomachenko was quick to respond to Cejudo’s challenge with a short video clip from his most recent KO victory and captioned it with “here’s an example of how it will be,” which literally means that Cejudo will end up being KO’d as well. The video shows the British boxer Anthony Crolla trying to get back up from being knocked out by the Ukrainian champ.

Although it appears that Lomachenko is also open with the idea of him fighting the UFC champ, his response was very brief and simple to be taken too seriously.

Things just took a bit of a turn when Cejudo went at it again with another tweet that shows a picture of Mexican boxer Orlando Salido celebrating his win over Lomachenko. Cejudo captioned the tweet with a more taunting statement in which he said that “we all know what happened the last time you fought a Mexican warrior. Whose hand got raised again?”

Salido was the only boxer who handed Lomachenko his only loss in his 14 professional fights.

It is still too early to assume that Cejudo is really serious about fighting Lomachenko but looking at their exchanges on social media, it appears that the MMA champ did more research on Lomachenko’s career in order to blast the boxing champ. In simpler terms, Cejudo went a bit deeper in their social media war.

Lobov’s win over Malignaggi may have fuelled MMA fighters to challenge boxing champs once again. In the past, the famous Mayweather-McGregor fight became a hit and it indeed gave MMA fighters some confidence to try boxing.

One of the most recent MMA pro reportedly thinking of moving to boxing is UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou.
