UFC: No Title Shot For Francis Ngannou But Best Opponent For KO Artist

UFC heavyweight top contender Francis Ngannou is not guaranteed the title shot yet but could be a perfect match for a knockout artist.

Shortly after Stipe Miocic reclaimed his belt at UFC 241 against Daniel Cormier, Ngannou immediately re-appealed for a title shot. Some in MMA believe that Ngannou deserves to fight for the title after knocking out former UFC heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos. However, the UFC hasn’t made it official yet.

Due to the prolonged title shot talks, Ngannou grew tired and frustrated with the UFC. In a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, the Cameroonian-Frenchman stated that he “honestly” believes that he should fight Miocic since he won the title fight at UFC 241.

“To be honest, I think I should fight the winner, regardless of who won the fight. Since it was Stipe, I think it would be good for me to have my rematch and the title shot,” Ngannou said.

But since the UFC has not told him anything about the title yet, Ngannou reasoned out that the title fight is not only beneficial for him but it is also the fight that makes most sense in the heavyweight division,

“I see that they are not really clear on the answer of me deserving the title shot or where I’m fighting next. I don’t know what it is. I don’t understand why it’s not clear for them to say. It is a very frustrating situation right now. It’s not only what I want, but it makes sense,” Ngannou exclaimed.

Meanwhile, a heavyweight knockout artist just addressed his future hopes in the UFC. Ex-NFL star Greg Hardy recently talked about finding a “ranked opponent” to finally prove he has more to offer than just knocking people out, MMA News reported.

“We’re looking with somebody with numbers behind their name. Going to bring a whole lot of pain, stretch this fight game out and see if we can go three rounds, maybe. See what that looks like,” Hardy said.

For Hardy, he believes he doesn’t have anything across his name in the UFC yet but certain that he will not let anybody stop his rise.

“I haven’t earned it, it’s only been two years. But I also think I will crush anyone you put in front of me. So bring it,” Hardy pointed.

Hardy also commended his trainers and vows to become the most complete and most “vicious” fighter of all time.

“We’re going to be the most complete, most dangerous, most vicious fighter of all time. We are literally stone-by-stone, brick-by-brick building everything I need,” Hardy said.

Should things really go well for Hardy, he could end up fighting a ranked fighter in the heavyweight division. As for Ngannou, if he doesn’t get the title shot soon, he could be the perfect fighter Hardy has been opting for to fight next.
