  • White says neither Lesnar nor Jones have reached out to him
  • White feels Lesnar may not be interested to fight anymore
  • Lesnar and Jones may be waiting for the right time to fight

UFC top brass Dana White previously mentioned that he was open to staging a Brock Lesnar vs. Jon Jones heavyweight clash if the two fighters are serious about facing off. But based on the latest reports, it appears seeing this iconic showdown happen is not looking good. It may be nothing more than a fantasy match which most could probably play in their game consoles.

Speaking to TMZ, White revealed that he has yet to sit down and talk business with Lesnar and Jones. Both have not shown a heavy interest in getting it done. Though it was not mentioned, it may be the timing that is a bit off. Most are still struggling with the pandemic, a factor that impacts how big fights like this are held.

White took the initiative of asking both fighters to give him a call in another previous report from TMZ. Unfortunately, no one bothered to take him up on the offer with the UFC prexy referring to the no-call as “crickets.”

"Not a word," White said to TMZ Sports when asked if Lesnar called him up. "The guy has had a long killer career. He actually came in and became a UFC heavyweight champ and the guy's made a lot of money. I just don't see him coming back over here again at his age."

For White, it was not all business had the former UFC champion called him up. He would have loved to just talk with Lesnar and see how he and his family were doing. But reading between the lines, that conversation could very well gauge the level of interest of Lesnar in facing Jones.

As far as Jones, it wasn’t that different too. He has not spoken to the 33-year-old former champion, branding is nothing more than “crickets” as well.

Jones decided to move up to heavyweight from light heavyweight, a move that raised speculations of a possible showdown between the two former champions. Lesnar is no longer with the WWE, something that even added fuel to the possibility.

White says that for now, a Lesnar vs. Jones deal is nowhere near close to happening. But if some semblance of normalcy happens in the coming months, that possibility could be brought up once more with likely better interest.
