A UFC top contender is set to return inside the octagon in November after being medically-cleared.

One of the most exciting middleweight fighters in the UFC today, Kelvin Gastelum, is officially cleared to fight again and is scheduled to fight another top middleweight contender, Jack Hermansson, in November.

Gastelum has been through a major setback on his attempt to fight for the title when he lost via five-round decision to UFC sensation Israel Adesanya in their collision last April at UFC 236.

And now, the Ultimate Fighter champ has set his priorities to keep himself close to the title and stay in the middleweight division’s top 5. Gastelum believes that an instant fight after being medically-cleared will help him cement a position at the title shot line.

The 27-year-old fighter has expressed his emotions on his social media account and said that he’s a little too excited and really looking forward to again soon after the “war” he had with Adesanya, MMA Mania reported.

“I’m a little too excited! The doctor just gave me good news and cleared me to fight and start training. After the war I had with Stylebender I had to make sure to take time off and make sure that when I get cleared, I was physically, brand spankin new. 11 weeks later that day has come and I’m ready to start looking for a return date! And my eyes are set for November,” Gastelum wrote.

Back in April, shortly after his devastating loss to Adesanya, Gastelum already seems to be very determined to come back stronger as he wrote on his social media account that he can’t wait for the future and he is only getting started, MMA Junkie noted.

“I left it all out there. Stylebender was the better man last night ! Congratulations to him. I know our paths will cross again! This set back as well as all my other setbacks have made me a better person and mixed martial artist. One thing about me is I always come back stronger after each loss!! I can’t wait for the future! I’m 27 and We’re only getting started! To God be all the glory for all his blessings because he is good ALL the time! The mission 4 Gold continues! See you around folks! #OnAmission4Gold,” Gastelum wrote.

Gastelum has become one of the most exciting middleweight fighters in the UFC since his impressive TKO win against mma veteran Nate Marquardt and managed to keep more wins across his name by defeating former UFC champs Johny Hendricks and Michael Bisping.
