More details about Conor McGregor punching an old man in a pub in Dublin have been revealed by witnesses.

One of UFC’s most celebrated superstars, McGregor, has stolen the spotlight once again. But this time, it is not about the UFC or his highly anticipated return.

In the past few days, the MMA world has been buzzing about McGregor’s pub incident, which took place back in April. TMZ sports released the video clip in which the UFC star can be seen punching an elderly man moments after pouring shots at the bar.

Just recently, a source told Irish Mirror what really happened during the incident. According to the source, McGregor offered the old man a drink, and when the old man refused, McGregor suddenly “swung for him.”

“The fella McGregor offered a drink to said, ‘I don’t want to drink that s--t, I don’t want your drink’ and McGregor wasn’t happy. And sure that was the end of it, then he swung for him,” the source said.

The source added that he believes McGregor often visited the pub with some of his friends. He also stated that he was once told the former UFC champ has a tendency to “get hyper” after a few drinks.

“I’m told when he (McGregor) has a few [drinks] in him he can get hyper,” the source revealed.

Although what McGregor did to the man was evidently wrong, the source thinks that if the elderly man had responded differently, the outcome could have been different as well. “It was stupid and maybe the man should have just passed the drink on to someone else and just thanked him,” the source shared.

The source stated that nothing has been heard from McGregor since then. "As far as I know he hasn’t been in touch with the pub since it all happened. It happened back in April,” the insider said.

Back in April, two first-hand witnesses detailed the scenario inside the pub during the incident. Although the information the witnesses shared was a bit vague, it somehow unveiled that McGregor was the one who started it all, Ozzy Man reported.

“There was a bit of a commotion, [McGregor] was acting the mick and there was an incident. The man that was allegedly assaulted is from Ballyfermot and drinks in the pub a good bit,” a witness said.

Another witness followed up by saying McGregor was “showing-off” before a man happened to went up to have a word with him.

“McGregor was being a show off in the pub and one man didn’t like it and went up to have a word with him,” the witness added.
