  • The woman confronted Russian troops about why they were in her country
  • A translation of the video said that the woman asked them to carry seeds of Ukraine's national flower
  • The soldiers did not retaliate and asked the woman not to 'escalate' the situation

A video showing a Ukrainian woman confronting heavily armed Russian soldiers and urging them to put sunflowers in their pockets has been making rounds online.

The unidentified woman in the clip asked Russian troops why they were on her land and even suggested that they stuff their pockets with seeds of sunflower, Ukraine's national flower, so they would bloom once they die on Ukrainian soil, Military Times reported.

The widely shared video obtained by Ukraine World has amassed 3.4 million views since it was posted Thursday. Many have also been praising the woman for her bravery, according to news.com.au.

"What the f--- are you doing in our land?" the furious woman shouted, according to a translation of the exchange that has been circulating on social media.

"Take these seeds and put them in your pockets, so at least sunflowers will grow after you die," the woman added.

"Right now, our discussion will lead nowhere. Let's not escalate this situation. Please," the soldiers said in response.

"What situation? Guys, guys. Put the sunflower seeds in your pockets, please. You will lie down here with the seeds," the woman said further. "You came to my land. Do you understand? You are occupiers. You are enemies."

The soldier eventually agreed with the woman.

"And from this moment, you are cursed. I'm telling you," the woman then told them.

Author Chris Taylor, who shared the transcript on his timeline, noted in a tweet, "Am I the only one reading that over and over, and getting chills each time?"

A number of social media users commented on the exchange that took place as Ukraine's army desperately tried to push back the Russian invasion.

"'Here, put these seeds in your pocket so that something pretty will grow when you die here' is just about the most devastating thing I've ever heard," a netizen commented. Another wrote: "So f---ing raw, absolutely brutal, this is the coolest thing I've ever heard someone say."

"This is poetic and heartbreaking and I'll bet that soldier absolutely does not want to be there," another Twitter user said. Another individual noted: "I'm seriously considering buying a big a-- bag of sunflower seeds and dumping them on the sidewalk outside a nearby Russian consulate."
