The unranked Texas Longhorns delivered the first loss of the season for the North Carolina Tar Heels on Thanksgiving night with a 92-89 win in the Las Vegas Invitational tournament.

UNC (5-1 record) were big favorites heading into the game, notably winning their previous five games by an average of 30.6 points.

However, it was Texas (5-0) who got the upset win, forcing the seventh-ranked team into 17 turnovers, with 14 coming in the first half, as they led the game for the entire second half.

According to the Charlotte Observer, multiple NBA general managers and scouts were present at the game and Texas shooting guard Kerwin Roach certainly took his chance to impress.

Th 22-year-old scored 32 points as well as racking up six rebounds and seven assists, as the Longhorns continued their winning run over head coach Roy Williams' Tar Heels with a 7-1 record.

The result drew a big reaction on social media, especially given UNC were expected to win the game despite their poor run of results against Texas.

Texas will now face the winner of the game between No. 11 Michigan State (3-1) and No. 17 UCLA (4-0), both of whom are currently playing at the time of writing.
