  • An undefeated heavyweight boxer thinks he could become like Mike Tyson someday
  • The aspiring future Tyson already knocked out 13 of his 14 opponents
  • Anthony Joshua once claimed he could fight like Tyson

An undefeated heavyweight knockout artist presents a strong case to become the next Mike Tyson.

Daniel Dubois is a 22-year-old heavyweight boxer from London. At 6-foot-5, he is kind of built differently compared to Tyson. However, Dubois claimed that he has the style of Tyson, and someday, he could also be feared by his opponents just like “Iron Mike.”

In his young boxing career, Dubois is apparently developing into a frighteningly talented fighter. He has already won the British and Commonwealth titles and consistently knocked out 13 of his 14 opponents.

Although it is a bit too early to predict that Dubois definitely has the power and athleticism of Tyson, his promoter Frank Warren believes he could be a future world heavyweight champ.

In an interview with Daily Star ahead of his last fight, Dubois revealed that during the early days of his boxing career, he would often go to the gym as a kid and mimic Tyson, whom he referred to as his “idol.”

According to the Brit, he often watched Tyson’s fights and convinced himself that he and “the baddest man on the planet” share the same qualities even outside the ring.

“I know it can happen that people fear me like they feared Tyson. It’s up to me to make sure it happens,” Dubois said.

“As a young kid I tried to emulate some of the things he (Tyson) did in and out of the ring. I feel that is part of my character and part of my fighting style. See if that worked, if it didn’t then I would go back to being Roy Jones or something like that,” Dubois added.

Intimidating an opponent by going under his skin has played a major role in boxing. However, Dubois thinks that whenever he talks trash, “it is up to his opponents if they will intimated.”

This wasn’t the first time a much bigger heavyweight boxer compared himself to Tyson. Shortly after his redemption win over Andy Ruiz Jr., another Bristish boxing superstar Anthony Joshua also claimed that he can fight like the American boxing legend.

Based on Joshua’s statement, he could adapt to any kind of fighting styles and mentioned that if his trainers want to him to box like some of the legendary heavyweight boxers of all time, there will be no problem for him at all.

"If they want me to box like Riddick Bowe, Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Floyd Patterson, Sonny Liston, whatever they want from me, I can produce it because I’m a student,” Joshua stated.
