‘Under The Dome’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis Revealed; What Will Happen In ‘The Red Door’?

Are you ready for more “Under the Dome” drama? Well, then you’re in luck because episode 9 of the hit CBS drama is chock-full of suspenseful moments. According to the synopsis for “The Red Door,” fans can anticipate Barbie’s dramatic storyline to continue when the episode airs Monday, Aug. 25, at 10 p.m. EDT.

When we last saw Barbie he had just made his way to the edge of the dome to give Julia a message. He warned her not to jump into the black abyss of a cave, insisting that the outside world is far more threatening than what’s inside the dome. However, his advice was cut short when military officials dragged Barbie away from Julia kicking and screaming.

“Under the Dome” fans will pick up with Barbie in handcuffs – surprise, surprise. The summary reveals that “when Barbie is apprehended by a group of mysterious men, he is relentlessly interrogated about his connection to the Dome." We even see an officer get a few good licks in.

Photos from episode 9 then prove Barbie’s father is somehow correlated with his son's arrest. Does Barbie’s dad have good intentions when it comes to his child or is his relationship with his son even more warped than we thought?

During “Awakening” we saw that Barbie’s father had an odd collection of photos of his son trapped in the dome. So is it safe to assume that he knows Barbie has managed to escape? We also know Barbie’s father doctored his son's email to Julia insisting that she “take a leap of fate” with the egg. But what does Barbie’s father want with the egg? The writers have us asking more questions than ever before.

As Barbie faces the threats of the outside world, Big Jim will threaten the community of Chester’s Mill (once again) when he makes a “deal that could seal the fate of the residents forever.” At this point we have no idea whether we’d rather be stuck outside in the apocalyptic-waiting world or under the dome with the conniving Big Jim.

But the most important teaser episode 9 has given us is in the title. Pauline revealed that the last postcard she ever drew was that of a red door. She, Lyle and Sam are currently in search for the mysterious passage way, which they hope can lead them back into the dome to save Junior.
