The Undertaker WWE Return: Brock Lesnar Named Hell In A Cell 2015 Opponent, Likely Ending Possibility Of WrestleMania 32 Match
Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker won’t wait until WrestleMania 32 to continue their feud. After the Deadman beat the former UFC Champion in the main event of SummerSlam, the two WWE superstars will meet again at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on Oct. 25.
WWE made the announcement during Sunday’s Night of Champions PPV, which didn’t feature The Undertaker or Lesnar. The Undertaker last appeared on WWE TV at SummerSlam, and Lesnar hasn’t been seen since “Monday Night Raw” on the night after the PPV.
The match will be the third in their feud, which dates back to WrestleMania 30. Lesnar broke The Undertaker’s streak on April 6, 2014, and the Phenom sought his revenge 15 months later when he interfered in Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at WWE Battleground with Seth Rollins. Lesnar forced The Undertaker to tap out at SummerSlam, but the referee didn’t see it, allowing The Undertaker to eventually get the win by submission.
Lesnar signed a new contract with WWE in March, and though he remains a part-time wrestler, he’s having more matches than he did in his first three years back with WWE. Hell in a Cell will mark Lesnar’s seventh match of 2015. Before the PPV, he’s set to face Big Show on Oct. 3 at Madison Square Garden during a WWE Network special event. Lesnar wrestled four times in 2014, and he had five total matches from 2012-2013.
Hell in a Cell will mark the Undertaker’s third match of the year. He wrestled just once in 2014, and while he had three matches in 2013, one was a six-man tag match. The Undertaker hasn’t wrestled more than three times in a year since 2010.
Now that The Undertaker and Lesnar will meet again at Hell in a Cell, its unclear what they will do at WrestleMania 32. Another match between the two WWE superstars is likely out of the question.
