Update: Beatrice's Royal Wedding Hat Fetches $130,400

Princess Beatrice's controversial Philip Treacy hat sold for $130,400 (£81,100) to an anonymous buyer Sunday on ebay. The proceeds from the auction will be split evenly between UNICEF UK and Children In Crisis.

Princess Beatrice of York, 22, is the elder daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah (Ferguson), Dutchess of York. That marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Sarah Ferguson was not invited to the Royal Wedding where Beatrice's hat was the center of attention.

In a statement, The Princess said of the hat: It has its own personality, and I am so happy that we have raised the most incredible amount of money and can make an even bigger change for the lives of some of the most vulnerable children across the world.
