A man from upstate New York flagged down an African American driver to tell her that black lives don't matter. He proceeded to scream that he hated n*"""""s.

The incident was caught on camera, and it is now part of a police investigation.

Jakeila Phillips filmed the passenger in a hatchback and tried to get her attention while driving alongside. She wound down the window and asked him what he just said.

Barry Wardell, the accused, reportedly said that he hated n*"""""s. He continued, daring her to put him on Facebook and repeated that Black lives don't matter.

Amused at the verbal assault from the racist, Phillips asked him if he had anything else to say. Wardell ranted that Blacks should be slaves and told her to give her back his grandparent's property, referring to her ancestors.

When Phillips asked what he did for a living, Wardell replied that he was a cook, and he hanged n*"""""s on the weekend. She proceeded to post the video on June 27 as proof she had had racist encounters, but this time she finally got to get it on camera.

According to the New York Post, the Utica Police Department stated that they were actively investigating the incident to see if there were any crimes committed.

The police did illustrate that they were disgusted and horrified by the words which had been used. It was termed one of the most ignorant things that anyone had ever said, and they distanced the community with the act emphasizing that it was not indicative of the citizens and the city they loved.

Hamilton College president, David Wippman, also bashed the slurs made by Wardell and confirmed that he had been a contract worker for the institution's food services provider. Wippman claimed Wardell would not work there again and has been banned from the campus.
