US Carriers Will Accept LG V30 Preorders Starting On Oct. 5

LG has announced that its V30 flagship smartphone will finally be heading to the United Sates. The LG V30 will be available in the U.S. in the next two weeks.

The LG V30 will be available from other major U.S. carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon. AT&T confirmed through a press release that the LG V30 will be available to order online on Oct. 5 and that the phone will be in stores on Oct. 6.

Consumers can purchase the LG V30 for $810 up front for $27 a month for 30 months through AT&T Next, according to 9To5Google. AT&T is offering to give away a second V30 unit for free if customers open a new line and buy both handsets through AT&T next with monthly eligible wireless and have eligible DirectTV service.

As for T-Mobile, the LG V30 will be available to preorder on Oct. 5. The handset won’t be available at T-Mobile stores until Oct. 13. T-Mobile listed the V30 as having a price tag of $800 without a plan. Customers will also be able to get the phone with a down payment of $80 with a $30 a month plan for 24 months.

This version of the LG V30 will also be the first smartphone from the carrier that will support T-Mobile’s super-advanced LTE network that can tap into the 600MHz frequency. This means that T-Mobile customers will be able to experience gigabit speeds on cellular data connections.

Unfortunately, other U.S. carriers haven’t released details on the availability, price and plans for the LG V30. This might also be the reason why LG didn’t really give out an exact release date in the U.S. since it will depend on the carriers. When LG first announced the V30, it was available in four color options: aurora black, cloud silver, moroccan blue and lavender violet. LG says that avialable color options for the V30 will also vary depending on which carrier customers buy from.

LG says that a national promotion for the V30 will also roll out in the U.S. soon which will bundle Google’s Daydream View VR headset along with the smartphone for free. There’s no word yet on when the Daydream View promo will be available, but it will be something that fans of virtual reality will surely wait for.

Lastly, LG also announced that the LG V30 in the U.S. will be part of the company’s Second Year Promise program, which offers customers limited warranty coverage in year two at no additional cost. “We are so confident in the V30’s quality, that in addition to the manufacturer’s first year limited warranty, we are now offering free second year coverage upon registration,” LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A. president Chang Ma said. “Plus, enjoy a service experience that gets you a replacement phone quickly. That’s LG’s promise to you.”

The inclusion of the Second Year Promise program for the V30 might be LG’s way of reducing any worries on bootlooping issues, as pointed out by Android Police. Some of LG’s smartphones from 2015 and 2016 were plagued with bootlooping issues, including the G4, G5, the Nexus 5X, the V10, V20 and the G Flex.
