The U.S. men’s national soccer team picked up an impressive win Wednesday night, but it wasn’t just the result of the World Cup warmup match that is making headlines. Christian Pulisic was critical of the lack of fan support that the U.S. team received at Cincinnati's TQL Stadium in 3-0 victory over Morocco.

"For whatever reason, I'm not super happy with the amount of Americans here, however that works out, if I'm being completely honest," Pulisic said when asked how it felt to be back playing in front of U.S. fans. "But thanks to the ones who did come, and the support is always great from them."

Wednesday’s match had an official attendance of 19,512. The venue can host up to 26,000 fans for a soccer match.

"I mean, it was a great win; we're really happy,” Pulisic said. “We started really well, got that early goal and yeah, just a really strong performance. But yeah, it's nice to be back in America and playing again."

Pulisic scored the match’s first goal, propelling the U.S. men’s national team to a win over one of the five teams from Africa that is headed to the 2022 World Cup. Morocco is the No. 24 ranked team in the world. The USMNT won going away, despite not having its full roster.

The USMNT will play two more home games and three other matches before the World Cup begins in Qatar in November. The Americans are ranked 15th in the world.

Fan support for the USMNT could increase as the World Cup gets closer. The Americans are in the World Cup for the first time in eight years. The team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

The USMNT is scheduled to face Uruguay Sunday in an international friendly at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City.
