USA 3 - 3 El Salvador: The U.S. is Stunned in the Final Moments [Soccer - Olympics]
The U.S. Under 23s have missed out on trip to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, as El Salvador scored a late goal in the dying moments of the match to earn a 3-3 draw on Monday night at LP Field in Nashville.
Jaime Alas scored for El Salvador off the assist from Darwin Ceren.
Terrence Boyd scored twice for the U.S. and Joe Corona scored in the 67th minute to give the Americans the lead after surrendering two first-half goals. Boyd's first goal came in the opening minute off an assist from Brek Shea.
The first El Salvador goal came in the 34th minute off a Mark Blanco a header, following a corner kick.
U.S. goalkeeper Sean Johnson was substituted for Bill Hamid after conceding a goal to Andrés Alexander Flores in the 36th minute.
El Salvador took eight shots with six on goal, while the U.S. took eight shots with four on goal.
