In a thrilling match, the U.S. and Japan played a memorable World Cup Final in Frankfurt, Germany.
The Americans had plenty of chances to score in the first half, but came up short. The U.S. hit the post or crossbar on multiple occasions. Japan was fortunate to go to halftime with the match scoreless.
In the second half, Alex Morgan converted, and then Japan responded back 12 minutes later.
The match went to overtime, and it led to an exciting conclusion, that might have had something to do with an injury to Hope Solo.
