Usher Is Awarded Sole Custody Of His Two Sons After Custody Battle With Ex-Wife Tameka Raymond
Usher has gained sole custody of his children, Naviyd Ely Raymond and Usher Raymond V, with estranged wife Tameka Raymond, aka Tameka Foster.
Usher and Tameka Raymond were in a heated custody battle. They married in 2007 and divorced a little more than two years later.
According to TMZ, the judge hearing the case sided with the singer, even after Tameka Raymond alleged that Usher did drugs in front of the children and was an absentee father.
Weeks ago,Tameka Raymond's attorney alleged Usher had no concern for his stepson Kile Glover while he was in the hospital. Kile, Tameka Raymond's son from a previous relationship, was declared brain-dead after being hit in the head by a personal watercraft while floating on an inner tube on Lake Lanier outside Atlanta.
Following that incident, Usher asked the court to delay the next custody hearing. Usher felt the trial would cause "unnecessary stress and strain" for himself, Tameka Raymond, and their two minor children "in the immediate wake of this tragedy."
But Tameka Raymond's lawyer filed documents stating that Usher's claims were false, TMZ reported. "[Usher] visited Kile in the hospital only once" during his 15 days on life support, Tameka Raymond claimed.
But it appears the judge did not agree with the accusations, and now Tameka Raymond is no longer the primary caregiver for their young boys. It remains to be seen how often she will be able to see her two sons.
