A Utah man has been accused of serving his ex-girlfriend a cup of coffee laced with methamphetamine.

Cache County Sheriff's deputies went to a home in Hyrum after a woman complained that she started having panic attacks when she drank a cup of coffee made by her ex-boyfriend. Alax Curzon, 41, who shared the house with the victim, allegedly made a cup of coffee for the woman and served it to her in bed on Nov. 23, the New York Post reported.

The woman, who has not been named, said she started feeling energetic immediately after drinking the coffee. Later, she came down from her energetic high and started breaking out in a cold sweat.

"She described what she thought was a panic attack without feeling like she was panicking," the police affidavit obtained by KSL said.

The next day, the woman went to the doctor and took a urine test. The reports came back positive for methamphetamine and amphetamines.

The woman showed the deputies several texts she received from Curzon, who told her she was high and that he hadn't seen any meth that could last so long. He then asked her to drink water and get some sleep. The unwashed coffee mug collected from the woman's home tested positive for meth or ecstasy, Cache Valley Daily reported.

Curzon reportedly admitted to using meth. Officers found a meth pipe with some residue in Curzon's pocket during the arrest.

The woman told officers that her ex-boyfriend "might kill her" due to his mental state.

Curzon has been charged with the surreptitious administering of a certain substance, possession of drugs within a correctional facility and two misdemeanors for possession of a controlled substance and assault.

He was arraigned Monday and was held on a $5,000 bail, the report said. The court asked Curzon to not have any contact with his ex-girlfriend.

In a similar incident, a 28-year-old British man was arrested for giving a 16-year-old girl a drink laced with cocaine on her birthday. The man and his companions sexually assaulted the girl after she blacked out, while some of their friends watched.
