Just build the cocktail in a highball glass and garnish with a lime wheel.
2. The Gimme Some Sugar Cocktail from Pink House Alchemy requires a few specialty items, but they make it easy with their cocktail kit ($20).
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz gin or vodka
- .5 oz fresh lemon juice
- .5 oz pH Hibiscus Rose syrup
- Sparkling rosé
- Lavender sugar
- Dehydrated pineapple syrup
Rim a coupe glass or champagne flute with pH hibiscus lavender sugar. Stir ingredients on ice in a mixing glass, then strain into the prepared glass. Top with sparkling rosé and garnish with a pineapple flower.
3. The Spiked Blood Orange Margarita from Sparkling Ice is a great way to dress up your average hard seltzer for a special occasion.
- 8 oz Sparkling Ice Spiked Strawberry Citrus Smash
- 1 oz Blood Orange Juice
- 1 oz Sour Mix
- 1 oz Tequila
- garnish: Strawberry and Blood Orange
Rim glass with a lime wedge and dip into salt. Fill glass with ice and add tequila, blood orange juice, and sour mix. Fill with Sparkling Ice Spiked Strawberry Citrus Smash and garnish with strawberries.
4. The Pink French 75 is a Valentine’s twist on a classic cocktail from Beefeater Gin.
Ingredients:
- 1 parts Beefeater Pink
- 1/2 parts Lemon Juice
- 1/2 parts Simple Syrup
- 3 parts Sparkling Rosé
Build in a shaker and add ice. Shake and strain into a flute glass. For an Instagram-worthy look, garnish with heart lemon peels and a heart strawberry.
5. The Negroni Sbagliato from Cinzano Sparkling gets the red color from the Campari, an Italian liqueur that complements the vermouth and prosecco.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Cinzano Rosso Vermouth
- 1 oz Campari
- Top with Cinzano Prosecco
- Slice of orange (for garnish)
Pour the ingredients directly in a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Stir and garnish with a half-wheel of orange.
6. The Bulleit Be-Dazzle features Campari as well. However, this Bulleit recipe also brings in strawberry and grapefruit flavors.
Ingredients:
- 2 parts Bulleit Bourbon
- 1 part Grapefruit Juice
- Half part Campari/Italian bitter aperitif
- Top with the 2 parts Strawberry soda
Shake the boubon, juice and Campari and pour into a highball glass. Top with strawberry soda and garnish with a lemon wedge.
7. Virgil’s Raspberry Cream Lovers Cocktail is perfect for anyone who loves a sugar rush on Valentine’s Day. The soda brand, Virgil’s, notes that this can also be a tasty mocktail for the kids when the vodka is withheld.
Ingredients:
- Homemade raspberry simple syrup (1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, 1 cup raspberries)
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice (optional)
- 1.5 oz vanilla vodka (skip for mocktail)
- Virgil's Vanilla Cream Handcrafted Soda
- Whipped Cream
- Confection Hearts
For the simple syrup: Mix the sugar and water in a pot large enough to comfortably hold all of the ingredients. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then stir until all of the sugar dissolves. Add the raspberries and continue to simmer until the berries break down (5 to 7 minutes). Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature, then strain.
For the drink: Pour a tall glass of Virgil's Vanilla Cream Handcrafted Soda. Add raspberry simple syrup (to taste), lemon juice and vodka. Top with whipped cream and confection hearts.
For the anti-mixologist: Not in the mood to mix a cocktail? Avaline is probably the perfect wine to go with Valentine's or Galentine's Day. After all, the organic vino brand was co-founded by Cameron Diaz, a rom-com queen ("The Holiday," "My Best Friend's Wedding"), along with business partner and bestie Katherine Power. Her favorite is the red with its "light to medium body with hints of cherry and a touch of spice."
