The mysterious death of 24-year old Valerie Reyes took a new turn with the arrested ex-boyfriend Javier Da Silva, a Venezuelan national, claiming that she died during a sex romp.

Reyes, who has been missing since Jan 29 was found dead in Greenwich, 35 miles outside New York City on Feb.5. The body was packed in a suitcase that had “obvious signs of head trauma,” said the police.

The body was found barefoot, shirt opened and hands tied to her back with a white string.

According to Greenwich Police Capt. Robert Berry, the arrested man Javier Da Silva, 24, “admitted a role” in Reyes' death.

Da Silva told cops that the Reyes died from a fatal fall during the sex romp.

The man’s claim of sex with Reyes at her New Rochelle residence on Jan. 29 contradicts her mother’s contention that the duo had not been seeing each other for almost a year.

According to the accused, Reyes fell on the floor during copulation and that split her head. The accused then sealed her mouth with tape, tied her arms and legs and pushed the body into a red suitcase. He later dumped Reyes’ body in a forest area near Connecticut that was away from the road.

Da Silva was nabbed after tracking Reyes’ ATM card that he used for withdrawing money on Jan. 30. He was taken into custody from his Queens home on Monday.

The hard trail on the suspect

The arrest Da Silva came after intense surveillance and scanning of social media footprints, Greenwich police said.

The early clues on the accused came when a police raid at Reyes' home recovered a drawing that matched the social media picture of Da Silva.

Reyes was reported missing since the morning of January 29. Neither her family nor colleagues at the Barnes & Noble bookstore had any idea about her whereabouts for many days.

In the criminal complaint, Reyes' family had mentioned the name of one Javier as an ex-friend and said she had ended that relationship a year ago.

Reacting to the arrest of Da Silva, Reyes' mother, Norma Sanchez said; “They released his name -- my heart dropped. Emotions of so much anger and hate, but relieved.”
