Only three episodes remain in season three of the CW's hit series The Vampire Diaries. The CW recently released its final promo photo for the season, and it promises a pretty intense showdown within the next coming weeks.

The dynamic trio in The Vampire Diaries -- Damon (Ian Somerhalder), Elena (Nina Dobrev), and Stefan (Paul Wesley) -- are featured on the dark poster with intense looks.

The promo photo may give clues to who Elena decides to choose: Damon or Stefan. Elena is propped between the two brothers, but while Stefan is perched up more, Damon is leaning his head seductively on Elena's leg. After last week's smoldering hookup on the balcony, I think Delana fans may be in luck.

Surrounding Damon, Elena, and Stefan is a flowing river of blood. The poster states, Soon the last drop will be drawn.

While whose last drop it will be is a mystery, Kat Graham, who plays the witchy Bonnie Bennett, revealed to the Associated Press, There is a death, a big death that I don't think anyone's expecting. Graham went on to say, There's lots of blood and love in it, too ... surprising turns that I didn't see coming.

The Vampire Diaries surprised fans last season when Aunt Jenna (Sara Canning) was turned into a vampire, only for Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to sacrifice her.
