‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Is Vicki In The Same Place As Katherine? Theory About Wind Force On The Other Side

“The Vampire Diaries” is getting all kinds of crazy as Season 5 winds down – and we’re absolutely loving it! Between the doppelganger prophecy, the mysterious Markos and the crumbling “Other Side,” viewers are not moving from the edge of their seats. And as the Season 5 finale creeps up, fan theories are in full swing.

So, what’s the latest idea that “Vampire Diaries” fans are toying with? An interesting connection between Vicki Donovan … and Katherine Pierce.

For those that don’t remember, Vicki was Matt’s older sister and a love interest for both Jeremy and Tyler. But unfortunately Vicki had a little bit of a wild streak and ended up getting tangled up with Damon … who turned her into a vampire. Unlike Caroline, Vicki didn’t have a good transition into becoming a vampire. The teen was reckless and hungry, which ultimately lead to her getting staked by Stefan.

Since her death, Vicki has popped up randomly throughout the past couple seasons – with her latest appearance being in episode 18 of Season 5.

In “Resident Evil,” Matt found himself on “The Other Side” after getting killed by a Traveler inside Sheriff Forbes. And while “The Other Side” was generally peaceful and solitary for its inhabitants, Matt discovered that things were crumbling thanks to Markos. Running into Kol Mikaelson, the Original vampire begged Matt to figure out how to stop whatever was happening to the dead supernatural beings. But Matt only had one thing in mind – finding his dead sister.

After running around in circles, Matt was finally reunited with Vicki. But their reunion was far from happy.

“Something’s wrong,” Vicki warned her brother. “Matty, you need to get back to your body and go back.”

However Matt didn’t want to leave his sister behind. Grabbing a hold of her hand, Matt tried his best to leave “The Other Side” with her. But unfortunately another force had other plans for Vicki. A strong wind tore the siblings apart, lifting Vicki up into the dark sky.

Where did Vicki go? So far nobody knows … but we do have a theory!

Katherine Pierce, Elena’s evil doppelganger, finally died in episode 15. Trying to pass through to “The Other Side,” Katherine grabbed ahold of Bonnie in a church. But Katherine didn’t move on. When she asked Bonnie why she wasn’t passing through, Bonnie said that it wasn’t up to her. Katherine remained stuck in limbo until a mysterious force – just like the strong wind Vicki encountered -- dragged her out the church.

There is no denying that these two characters had similar encounters with the unknown wind force. The twist is that we don’t know what the force wants. Right now the main problem on “The Other Side” is that Markos’ escape is making the world crumble. Since Vicki was trying to escape “The Other Side,” the force could be like a security measure. And since Katherine has always tried to weasel her way out of bad situations, it’s definitely believable that “The Other Side” would not want to take any chances with her.
