‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: What Will Happen In Episode 2? Watch Promo Video For ‘True Lies’
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. Do NOT continue reading if you have not watched the season premiere of “The Vampire Diaries.”
“The Vampire Diaries” returned to the CW for its fifth season on Thursday, Oct. 3, sucking viewers in for more bloody drama. The season 5 premiere episode, “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” closed with some pretty major jaw droppers, so what’s coming up next?
According to the synopsis for episode 2, “True Lies,” Damon will be potentially teaming up with Sheriff Forbes in an attempt to find Stefan; Elena and Caroline will be digging into who covered up the murder of their roommate, Megan; Matt and Jeremy will try to protect Katherine from Silas; and newcomer Nadia will be using “violence to make a point” about her own mysterious agenda.
“Stefan’s been drowning over and over again all summer long while I’ve been playing house with Elena,” Damon admits with some guilt in the promo video for “True Lies.” And he’s not the only one feeling bad for not checking up on his younger brother.
Although Elena felt that something was wrong with her ex-boyfriend in the season premiere, Caroline convinced her that all she’s feeling is guilt over choosing Damon over him. “Stefan’s been reaching out to me,” Elena says choked up. “He’s in a lot of pain. We have to find him.”
In “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” viewers discovered that Stefan’s been stuck drowning in the lake all summer. Since he’s a vampire, he doesn’t die … but instead continues to drown and wake up in a continuous circle of pain. The episode showed that he’s been experiencing an inner struggle, having imaginary conversations with Damon about turning off his humanity in an attempt to not feel any misery. And although he fought imaginary Damon’s idea, by the end of the premiere Stefan was very tempted.
Episode 2 of “The Vampire Diaries” airs on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. Watch the promo video for “True Lies” below and let us know what you think.
