‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Spoilers: Can Bonnie And Damon Stay Friends While Elena Is Gone? Kat Graham Teases Their Future

Things will never be the same on “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7, especially not for Damon (Ian Somerhalder). After Kai (Chris Wood) put Elena (Nina Dobrev) under a spell in the Season 6 finale, it was revealed that she would never be able to be wake up while Bonnie (Kat Graham) was alive. Damon couldn’t kill Bonnie to save his love, but can he and Bonnie go back to being friends?

Although Season 7 hasn’t started filming yet, Kat Graham recently revealed their relationship will be an interesting part of the new storyline. Yet, she wasn’t sure whether they will be best friends or enemies. “I'm hoping for both,” Graham told E! Online. “I'm hoping that we see both sides of their relationship and how it can affect them both because it's obviously going to screw with Bonnie and him, but especially Bonnie.”

Meanwhile, Ian Somerhalder teased that audiences will see the return of a pre-Elena Damon. “I'm excited to tell these f----- up, dark, sexy, edgy, volatile stories,” Somerhalder teased to TV Guide. “Now we get to go back to really great storytelling that was the Season 1 and 2 of the show that we all loved. I want that Damon back.”

That Damon, however, hated Bonnie. While we assume everything won’t go back to the exact way it was in Season 1, Somerhalder’s comments would seem to indicate some trouble for their relationship. Yet, Bonnie isn’t the same girl she was in Season 1. Executive producer Julie Plec revealed that Damon might influence the witch.

“We're going to let Bonnie continue to be the bad-- self she's evolved into this season,” Plec told the Hollywood Reporter. “She'll have a closeness with Damon. They're going to remain friends, but he's going to rub off on her a bit. It'll be fun to watch them together.”

Does this mean Bonnie is going to take a walk on the wild side? Fans will have to wait for Season 7 to find out.
