‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Episode 3 Synopsis, Promo Video And Photos Released
Happiness doesn’t last very long on “The Vampire Diaries.” Caroline and Stefan just got engaged, but another couple was also formed. Sybil managed to worm her way into Damon’s mind and replaced Damon’s memories of Elena with herself. Now Damon is completely loyal to her, and that’ll be a major problem in Season 8, episode 3.
“As Enzo (Michael Malarkey) continues to fight the control over him, Bonnie (Kat Graham) finds herself at the center of a deadly game and forced to make a heart wrenching decision involving two of the most important people in her life,” the synopsis teases.
The promo video above reveals Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will send Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to kill Bonnie. Will Damon be the one threatening Bonnie’s loved ones? It’s likely Enzo and Caroline (Candice King) that will be in danger. After all, they’re the people Bonnie cares for the most.
Damon will interrupt Caroline’s wedding planning. Thought the synopsis doesn’t mention it, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline’s engagement last week will mean that Caroline is already picking out china patterns. Damon will pay Caroline a visit while she’s wedding dress shopping.
A familiar face will return in episode 3 too. Tyler (Michael Trevino) will run into the mind-controlled vampire. It’s safe to say they aren’t going to be thrilled to see each other, but the chat might be helpful. “Damon’s downward spiral leads him to Tyler Lockwood who attempts to talk some sense into him before it’s too late,” the episode 3 synopsis reveals.
Elsewhere, Alaric (Matt Davis) will be searching for a way to fight sirens. He thinks the object Georgie (Allison Scagliotti) found last week will help. “At the Armory, Alaric researches a mysterious artifact that he hopes will help in their fight to get Damon and Enzo back,” the summary says. With Damon’s humanity seemingly completely turned off, they’ll need to find Sybil’s weakness fast.
Episode 3 is titled “You Decided That I Was Worth Saving,” and that should sound familiar to longtime fans. It’s a quote from the “TVD” Season 1 finale. Damon says it to Katherine (Nina Dobrev), assuming that she is Elena. It’s one of the first times he realized he could be a good guy. Perhaps it’s a hint that Damon isn’t completely lost yet, despite Sybil’s control over him.
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8, episode 3 airs Friday at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
