‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Episode 9 Synopsis, Photos And Promo Video Released

The Miss Mystic Falls pageant is back! “The Vampire Diaries” is bringing back the event for the final season, and without Elena, it will bring up plenty of painful memories. In Season 8, episode 9, much like the first time around, Damon is the reliable one while Stefan is going off the rails.

Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) haven’t been in Mystic Falls lately. They’ve been hunting down evil souls for Cade. However, it’ll be a siren that brings them back home. “Stefan and Damon return to Mystic Falls at Sybil’s (Nathalie Kelley) request as she is still in search of the historical artifact,” the synopsis says.

Sybil tried to get an artifact from Caroline (Candice King) last week, but her sister Seline (Kristen Gutoskie) managed to swipe the object first. She apparently thinks the Salvatore brothers can help her, but that doesn’t mean she is going to be nice to them. “Stefan, Damon, Caroline, Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey) all attend the Miss Mystic Falls pageant where Sybil continues to taunt Damon with memories of Elena,” the summary teases.

The promo video for episode 8 shows Caroline seeing Stefan for the first time since he left. Damon quickly warns her that she can’t trust her fiancé. A wide shot even shows Damon dancing with Caroline during the event.

However, Stefan isn’t Caroline’s only concern. Bonnie and Enzo are more in love than ever, and Caroline is worried that Bonnie is going to take a serious step in their relationship. “Bonnie returns from Paris wearing a vile of Enzo’s blood, making Caroline wonder if she will become a vampire,” the episode 8 summary reveals.

That might not be a bad thing, though. In fact, it sounds like a loophole in Elena’s sleeping beauty curse. Damon’s love is set to stay asleep until Bonnie dies. If Bonnie became a vampire, she would technically be dead. It’s worth noting that Nina Dobrev recently said she was “not allowed” to address rumors about her return to the final season of “The Vampire Diaries.”

Season 8, episode 9 is titled “The Simple Intimacy of the Near Touch.” The quote actually isn’t from our main characters. It’s something the late Mrs. Lockwood said in the original Miss Mystic Falls episode. It’s how she described the dance choreography to the teenagers.
