‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Ian Somerhalder Reportedly Moves In With ‘Twilight’ Actress Nikki Reed

It’s a match made in vampire heaven for “Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder and “Twilight” alum Nikki Reed. After dating rumors sparked in late July, the pair has reportedly moved in together.

Sources told Us Weekly that Somerhalder and Reed, who filed for divorce from husband Paul McDonald in May, are currently living together in Atlanta. The location is home for Somerhalder, who films the hit CW series in the area. Reed previously resided in Los Angeles. The actress had been recording an album on and off for the past three years with McDonald, a former “American Idol” contestant who she wed in October 2011.

“[Nikki] goes to set every day,” one source continued, referring to Somerhalder’s filming for Season 6 of “The Vampire Diaries.”

Unfortunately, that may be causing a rift between the actor’s CW co-stars, since Somerhalder works alongside his ex-girlfriend of three years, Nina Dobrev. The pair split in May 2013 and remained good friends. However, Hollywood Life reported the starlet never gave Somerhalder her blessing for his new relationship -- with her good friend, Nikki Reed.

“It’s a little awkward right now because they have the same friend circle as Nina and no one is quite sure how to react,” an insider dished to Hollywood Life. “But it’s not like Nikki stole him away from Nina: They’ve been broken up more than a year. But it’s still a bit awkward for everyone, they’re all waiting for Nina’s blessing.

The new reports come fresh on the heels of rumors that one of the three major stars of “The Vampire Diaries” is considering leaving the series after Season 6. Insiders close to the set told E Online that only two of the three “TVD” core trio -- Somerhalder, Dobrev and Paul Wesley -- have signed for Season 7 of the successful CW series. The third actor, whose identity has not been confirmed yet, is holding out because he or she is “unsure” about continuing with the show.

Whatever the case may be, the chemistry between Somerhalder and Reed is undeniable. The two were spotted in Beverly Hills during Heifer International’s Beyond Hunger Gala Friday night. The actor was on hand to be honored, and engaged in a little public display of affection with his speculated girlfriend before accepting his award. Witnesses say Reed whispered something in her beau’s ear before planting a kiss on his cheek. The “Vampire Diaries” star and philanthropist is said to be smitten with his ladylove and is “very serious” about her, sources told People.
